Extra Mile Automotive Warranty

Extra Mile warrants parts sold by us to be free from defect in material and workmanship from 12 months from date of invoice from Extra Mile, if in service 3600 hours or one year whichever occur first. Extra Mile parts will replace components at Free of Cost basis including freight at delivery address mentioned in purchase order.

The scope of warranty is given below.

SCOPE:

  •  This warranty does not apply to older engine model which are no longer in production and not in warranty.
  • This agreement covers warranty for products supplied by Extra mile to Specific Customers.
  • Extra mile warrants product found to defective, in case of material, workmanship only under normal use and service.
  • Extra mile is not responsible for failure resulting from misuse, faulty installation, bad handling, alteration, neglect or accident at customer or their customer’s end.
  • Warranty is honored based on analysis of a sample of defective and non-conforming material that represents the whole population of Customer’ warranty claims.
  • Warranty is not applicable if engine has been reserviced after installation.
  • Cash refund is not applicable.

EXTENDED WARRANTY:Low usage: In case where the engine use does not exceed 500 hours in that year from date of part installed in use, warranty is extended for an additional year or until the part use reaches to total of 1500 hours whichever occurs first.

This warranty runs concurrently with standard warranty period.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY :

  • If a defect in material or workmanship is found during the standard warranty period or the extended warranty period if applicable, Extra mile will, during normal working hours and through a place of business or delivery address mentioned in purchase order provide new, remanufactured or OE approved repaired parts or assembled components needed to correct the defect.
  •  Extra mile will pay for maintenance items such as oil, antifreeze or filters that are not reusable due to repair of warrantable failures but subject to agreed upon in advance with Extra mile.
  • Extra mile is not responsible for incidental and consequential damages.
  • Warranty does not apply to parts provided by Extra mile at no charge or in lieu of a previous warrantable situation.
  • Warranty Cost shall involve labour which is not more 10% invoice value of that part supplied by Extra mile or  1% to total sales turnover of last year.
  • Extra mile will not be liable to pay holiday or overtime unless agreed upon in advance by Extra mile.

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing proof of the delivery date.
  • Helping with investigating of cause.
  • Giving timely notice of a warrantable failure and promptly making the product available for inspection.
  • Customer is responsible for communication expenses, meals, lodging and similar costs incurred as a result of a Warrantable Failure.
  • Owner is responsible for non-Engine repairs and for ‘‘downtime’’ expenses, fines, all applicable taxes, all business costs and other losses resulting from a Warrantable Failure.

LIMITATIONS:
Extra mile are not responsible for:

  • Incidental or consequential damages.
  • Any tampering or altering of Extra mile product.
  • Failures resulting from attachments, accessory items and parts not sold or approved by us.
  • Failures resulting from abuse, neglect and/or improper repair, lack of proper maintenance, poor assembly or operations.
  • Failures resulting from user’s delay in making the product available after being notified of a potential product problem.
  • Failures resulting from unauthorized repair or adjustments, and unauthorized fuel-setting changes.
  • Damage to parts, fixtures, housings, attachments, and accessory items, which are not part of the engine.

WARRANTY PRODUCT RETURN PROCESS FLOW FOR ANALYIS:

In order to commence the claim process, Extra mile must first accept warranty liability based on following criteria to be met:

  • When an authorized repair location suspects an engine problem under warranty, which appears to be caused by a failure of Extra mile’s component, the assigned technician will follow the appropriate service-troubleshooting guideline which is released by OEM to remove component from engine.
  • Customer shall return non-conforming / failed component to Extra mile at Extra mile’s expense.  If said product not returned within 30 days from date from Customer, component shall be charged to the customer at the applicable rate plus transportation costs.
  •  Any component not returned to Extra mile within specified time, is to be scrapped in a wholly unsalvageable/destroyed condition at customer cost.
  • Extra mile will complete failure analysis of the component within a reasonable time.
